Sterling Metals Again
Can anyone tell us what was going on here? It looks like these people are laying large tiles on the roof of the office block. The date given is 4th June 1970. There are also conduits of some kind tracking across the roof in a grid pattern. To the right is the former factory car park in Marston Lane, and across the top of the picture Griff Lane. The 40+ year old cars are all collectors pieces today. The industry seen was all in vain in the end. Twenty odd years later Sterling Metals was demolished and a factory that employed 2800 men in its heyday in Attleborough disappeared under a new housing estate.
